Richard Collocott

Richard Collocott is, since 2018, the Managing Director of Prestige Bullion, a joint venture between the South African Mint and Rand Refinery. This business is responsible for the management of South Africa’s bullion coin portfolio, including the world-famous Krugerrand.

Prior to taking the role at Prestige Bullion, Richard was the Commercial Executive at Rand Refinery.

Richard has worked in various roles in the financial and commodity sector, prior to joining Rand Refinery, including serving as Chief Executive of a London Listed diamond company, Managing Director of the international mining division of a multinational company, CEO of the Swiss trading arm of a multinational base and precious metal company, director at a global consulting form and regional head of risk management for a global banking business.

Richard’s history in gold and commodity markets spans decades, first starting in the late 1990’s in one of South Africa’s leading banks, and subsequently at one of South Africa’s mining houses, where he worked in corporate finance and treasury roles.

Richard is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa).
